I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest, which you would think would mean that I would know Seattle like the back of my hand. But alas, it’s a city that is constantly evolving, and so requires a thorough new inspection and update of ‘hot spots’ every few years. I recently had an opportunity to spend a quick few days back in my hometown and was impressed with both how much it has changed as well as the plethora of restaurants / shops available in the immediate downtown area. This guide is for the person who maybe is stuck in Seattle for a weekend, or is keen to roam around with the family or significant other downtown - and see the best of the best over a few days.
Where to Stay: Hotel Andra ($$)
I couldn’t imagine a more central, convenient, or classy hotel. As a frequent business traveler, I have developed relatively high expectations for city hotels, and Hotel Andra met and surpassed each and every one. It’s comfy, it’s walkable (literally <5 minutes to Pike Place Market), it’s quiet, and the rooms are impeccably clean and cozy.
It also has it’s own restaurant, which serves delicious food and drinks which you can either enjoy on site or take up to your room. What more can you ask for?
